A Natural Water Filter.
This rain garden captures runoff from the parking lot, acting as a natural filtration
system and slowing the flow of water into the Mueller community's regional water
quality system.

Water Smart.
Our irrigation system uses "smart" controllers set to drought restriction watering cycles,
with rain and freeze sensor shut-offs.

Even Water can be Recycled.
Our irrigation system taps Austin's Water Reclamation Initiative, which provides treated
wastewater for non-drinking uses. Citywide, this program saves more than 1.2 billion gallons
of drinking water every year.

Water Wise.
We use water bubblers with pressure regulating stems to water our trees and help reduce

A Rugged Specimen.
This tree has exhibited remarkable hardiness. It survived for
years in the former airport's parking lot before being moved here to make room for development
in that area.

Back to Nature.
Previously a paved area dating back to the site's former life as an airport, this rain garden
has been replanted with native vegetation and mulched with chippings from downed tree limbs from
the Austin area.
